Blooming at Rancho La Puerta

Eucalyptus leucoxylon ‘Rosea’ © Alice Joyce

A lush display of Eucalyptus leucoxylon ‘Rosea’  blooms at Rancho La Puerta.

While landscape architect Enrique Ceballos mentioned that they were working to eradicate the White gum tree from the property, this winter-flowering species will remain a stunning focal point in the gardens.

  • that is a beautiful eucalyptus, i’m not sure i’ve seen this coloration for this species…very pom pom like and droopy…spectacular and the leaves have a wonderful red piping too, wow!

  • Hi Noel, I’ve now labeled it as a Eucalyptus, but when I saw the blooms at the Rancho I thought it might be me a Melaleuca.
When I began researching my first book and toured California’s central coast, I came up melaleuca trees for the first time. They knocked my socks off, to use a cliche!

  • Alice — wow! Another website to manage. You go, girl! :-) I’ll take a look around and see what’s happening here. You’re making me wish I was still visiting California!

    Cheers,
    Cameron

  • The Eucalpytus blooms are spectacular. I love their colour. You’ve done fine work on this website. It is looking good! I like the way you’ve categorised your various interests in tabs on the top right-hand side. The colour scheme is great. I’ll be a regular visitor.
